Mountain Backyard Storage Shed

This shed was needed to free up space in the garage, and to provide a well-built storage area for our lawn tools. The project was made more difficult by the amount of dirt that had to be moved and the retaining wall that had to be built prior to construction, but once the gravel was level the building went up fairly quickly… about two months’ work including rain delays. As this was my first retirement project, I could not have done it without the help of Country Life’s videos and detailed plans. Deviations were minimal: a ridge vent, a window on the south side, slightly modified trim work, and the access ramp. The biggest addition was the 20 amp electrical service, which necessitated 60′ of ditch witch work to lay the underground (UFB) cable. It is nice to be able to see what I’m looking for in the evenings, and the outlets provide power for my outdoor electric tools.
