Video 6 – How To Install The Trusses on The Shed

This is the sixth of 15 videos. In this video we will be installing our site built trusses and putting on the sub-fascia boards.

Installing the trusses is easy as long as you follow the tips and process in this video. Be safe and take your time, and make sure you have a sturdy ladder or mini-scaffold.

Even if you buy your trusses, this video should help you to install them correctly provided the design is similar. Remember that you will need the type of Hurricane Ties shown in the video if you decide to use them.

  1. Great videos! I’m using them and your plans to build my shed. My only comment is that you
Never actually attach the trusses to the top plate. I saw the part on the hurricane clips but how did you secure the center trusses? Thanks again!!

Glad you like the videos and purchased the plans – thank you.

A good portion of the video for that section was corrupted and we had to piece it together best we could. The trusses are attached by either nailing (3 1/4″ common) or screwing (3 or 3 1/2″ construction screws) on an angle into the top plate of the wall – use one on each side of the truss (that would be a total of 4 – 2 on each end).

      Success with your shed!
